Website Care Plans & Hosting
Let us keep your website healthy
Key Takeaways
- A website is not a thing you buy once. It is software, and unmaintained software breaks, slows down and gets hacked.
- Care plans cover hosting, updates, backups, security monitoring, uptime, and a monthly allowance of small edits.
- The most common failure we get called about is a site nobody has touched in two years, running plugin versions with published vulnerabilities.
- Included on sites we build, and available for sites we did not.

Is your website on life support?
What actually happens to an unmaintained site
WordPress updates. Plugins update. PHP versions get deprecated. Certificates expire. None of it announces itself.
What you notice is that the site got slow, or the contact form quietly stopped sending, or one morning it is showing a white screen and nobody knows why. The person who built it three years ago is not answering.
The contact form one is the worst, because there is no error. It just stops emailing you leads. We have found sites that had been silently swallowing form submissions for months.
Our Care Approach
What a Care Plan Covers
Managed hosting
Fast, monitored, backed up, with SSL that renews itself.
Core, theme, and plugin updates
Applied on a schedule, tested rather than pushed blindly. Plugin updates are the single most common way a working site breaks.
Daily backups with real restores
Backups nobody has ever tested are not backups. Ours are restorable and we have restored them.
Security monitoring and malwares scans
Plus cleanup if something gets through.
Uptime monitoring
We find out before you do, which is better than finding out from a customer.
Form testing
Monthly confirmation that your contact forms are still delivering. Unglamorous and one of the most valuable line items here.
A monthly edit allowance
Hours, holidays, staff changes, a new service, a photo swap. Small changes without a quote and without a three-day wait.
Performance checks
Core Web Vitals and load speed on real mobile devices, because speed is a conversion factor before it is a ranking factor.
Why we include it on sites we build
Because we would rather your site keep working. A website we built that degrades for eighteen months and then embarrasses everyone is not a good outcome for either of us.
It also means when something does go wrong, there is no argument about whose job it is.
For sites we did not build
We take on outside sites regularly. There is usually a one-time cleanup first, because sites arriving from elsewhere tend to come with accumulated problems: outdated core, abandoned plugins, no backup system and occasionally a hosting account nobody has the login for.
We will audit it, tell you what it needs, and quote the cleanup separately from the ongoing plan.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to host with you?
No, though it is simpler if you do. We can maintain a site on your existing host, and if that host is the problem we will say so.
What counts as a small edit?
Text changes, image swaps, hours updates, adding a service, publishing a post, fixing a link. New page templates, redesigns and new functionality are quoted separately.
Who owns the site and the domain?
You do. Always, on every plan. Your domain in your name, your hosting account, your logins. If you leave, you take a working site with you. We are not in the hostage business.
What if my site gets hacked?
On a care plan, cleanup and restore are covered. Off a plan, we can help, and it costs considerably more than the plan would have.
Can I cancel?
Month to month, like everything else we do.
Do you support Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy sites?
Limited. Those platforms handle their own updates and security, which is part of their appeal, and there is much less for a care plan to do. If you are weighing platforms, our web design page covers the tradeoffs honestly.
